It occurs to me that with the great diversity of builders we have here on the OLF, it might me interesting to see everyone's top/and/or/back bracing patterns. I'll start. I build both traditional x-braced and Kasha-braced guitars, so here's one of each: Here's the Kasha: 
Detail of the "Flying Brace" and don't worry Lance, I'll clean up the glue residue before I close up the box.

Jimmy, Maybe a brief thought on the difference in sound between Kasha and traditional? It looks like you have the same shape with both brace patterns. The Kasha looks like a lot more work but lends to the 'free bridge rocking' idea more. What are your thoughts. Thanks Shane |

Shane, Do they really look similar? Same body shape, but that's about it. The Kasha guitar does in fact get driven by the rocking of the bridge. The saddle rests on the lower transverse brace and the finger braces radiate out from the bridge. The sound of the Kasha vs. the X to my ear is a more defined treble with a solid midrange. The Kasha guitars have what I call a more contemporary sound, that is, less bass, improved note separation. It's just a different sound, not better or worse. Obviously, I also build X-braced guitars and I love the vintage sound they produce. And yes, they are a lot more work, but there's just something about them I like. |

John, yeah, I started doing that to get the join in the top and back to meet the body join. As soon as I'm clamped up, I bang those sideways and pop them off and clean off the titebond for next time. I probably should just put some simple adjustables / removeables on my molds. But this works. |

Thanks Rod! Technically, they're not MY guts, but I'm told mine are quite alot like these...at least I have more HAIR than this guy (for now!)...and congrats on that new avatar of yours!
